Well, that escalated pretty darn quickly. Just as news came out that the Baltimore Ravens were set to visit with free agent Michel Crabtree, reports are surfacing that another free agent they committed to will head back on to the open market.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the four-year $29 million deal former Washington wide receiver Ryan Grant signed with Baltimore has voided after he failed a physical.
WR Ryan Grant, who reached agreement with Baltimore on a $29 million deal, failed his physical and his Ravens deal is null and void, per sources. Grant will have to find another deal with another team willing to pass him on his physical.

For those of you who believe there are no coincidences in life, here’s case study No. 1.
Grant reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with Baltimore earlier in free agency after racking up less than 1,000 yards in four seasons with the Redskins. This was seen as one of the most ridiculous contracts of the young NFL offseason.
Now that Crabtree has hit free agency following his release from the Raiders on Thursday, it appears the Ravens are having buyer’s remorse. Of course, no deal had been made official and Grant could actually be dealing with an injury. Even then, the timing is rather interesting.
Though, adding Crabtree over Grant would be a boon for a receiver-needy Ravens team that also just recently released Jeremy Maclin.
Stay tuned. This could get fun. And by fun, we mean popcorn-worthy.
