Report: Paul George will make Clippers debut this week

The long-anticipated debut of All-Star forward Paul George on the Los Angeles Clippers won’t have to wait too much longer.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, George will suit up for his new team when it embarks on a two-game road trip later this week. That could come as early as Wednesday against the Houston Rockets or during Thursday’s outing in New Orleans.

George had off-season surgery on both shoulders and has been frustrated about his rehab process.

Acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a blockbuster trade this past July, George joins Kawhi Leonard on a 7-3 Clippers team that has manhandled opponents through the early stages of the season.

The six-time All-Star averaged a career-best 28.0 points to go with 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Thunder last season.

Given that this road trip represents a back-to-back, it will be interesting to see when George returns to the court. Remember, Leonard himself is not play on back-to-back nights. He’ll sit out one of the two outings.
