After suffering a thumb injury in a win over the Houston Texans, then playing through the injury in a shutout loss to the Buffalo Bills, it seems New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett could be headed to injured reserve.
Source: while nothing is final yet, IR is a possibility for Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett (thumb), who was not at start of team's practice.

One thing to keep an eye on in all this would be that Tom Brady needs to be activated to the roster, so Brissett could hit IR as a corresponding move.
IR has been a possibility for Brissett with his thumb. May swap him out for Brady. https://t.co/Wa3H9K0jb7

Despite throwing for 400 yards in two games as the Patriots’ starting quarterback, Brissett was absent from practice Friday morning.
Now the team must decide whether or not to place him on IR. With injury concerns surrounding Jimmy Garropolo, the Patriots are treading a fine line in roster management, though they do still have Julian Edelman as the emergency quarterback.
