Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who is considered by some to be one of the dirtiest players in the National Football League, could very well have cost his team a real opportunity to advance in the playoffs.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the Pro Bowl defensive tackle could be suspended for Detroit’s wild card game against the Dallas Cowboys this upcoming weekend.
The incident that may lead to the costly suspension took place in Detroit’s season finale against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Suh stepped on the injured left leg of Aaron Rodgers quarterback twice in the fourth quarter of a game that Green Bay ended up winning to take the NFC North title.
Here’s one of the plays in question.
You can be the judge here.
If Suh is suspended, it’s going to hurt the Lions defense big time against DeMarco Murray and Co. Detroit allowed over four yards per rush with Suh on the sideline compared to under three yards per carry with him on the field.
Update: it’s official. Suh has been suspended for the wild card game against Dallas.
