At this point, we have no idea when or if the NBA season will resume. The Association decided Wednesday night to suspend said season after Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The season will remain halted for at least a month, according to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. It’s now all about containing the pandemic around the United States. Should this not come to fruition, there’s a chance the season will be cancelled altogether.

If so, NBA players could get the shaft from a financial perspective.
That’s the ugly side of the business. If owners are not receiving revenue during this hiatus, they might very well decide not to pay players.
No one is going to hand ring over millionaires missing out on one-quarter of their in-season checks. There’s a lot more to be concerned about. This is also part of the current collective bargaining agreement.
Even then, it would not necessarily be a great look for owners if they decided to give their players the shaft during a world-wide pandemic.
