Having been demoted to the G-league back in October, former Atlanta Hawks second-round pick Kay Felder finds himself in some hot water up north.

According to TMZ Sports, Felder was arrested Monday morning on assault and utter threat charges after an alleged incident with a woman he’s known for some time now.

The report goes on to allege that Felder threatened the unnamed woman and choked her before authorities arrived on the scene.

“We’re told the two got into an argument after dinner and Felder allegedly got violent and choked her, leaving nasty marks on her neck,” the gossip rag reported. “Our sources say the alleged victim was able to call a family member who then called police.

Felder has since been released from custody and is due in court later this month.

This disturbing story comes just as the NFL finds itself dealing with domestic violence allegations against stars Kareem Hunt and Reuben Foster. It’s a somewhat shocking development given that such off-court incidents have not been prevalent around the NBA.

Felder, 23, did not suit up for a game with the Toronto Raptors this regular season after spending the exhibition slate with the team. He’s been playing for the Raptors’ G-league affiliate since being demoted back in October.

The former Oakland University standout has had stints with the Cavaliers, Bulls and Pistons since being selected No. 54 overall back in 2016. If these allegations are proven true, his NBA career is likely over.
