Report: Mets ‘seriously listening’ to Noah Syndergaard trade calls

The New York Mets reportedly have an absurd asking price for anyone interested in pulling off a Noah Syndergaard trade, but that apparently hasn’t stopped teams from calling.

And the teams that are calling reportedly have the Mets “seriously listening,” per Buster Olney of ESPN.

We know that the 46-54 Mets are in fire-sale mode during yet another failed season, but previous reports indicated Syndergaard is unlikely to be traded.

Reading between the lines, what it sounds like is that Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen is just waiting for one of his peers to be desperate enough for a top-end starter to make him an offer he cannot refuse.
