Report: Lions sign Pro Bowler Damon Harrison to one-year, $11 million extension

The Detroit Lions apparently liked what they saw in veteran defensive tackle Damon Harrison after the team acquired him in a trade with the New York Giants last season.

How much? Detroit reportedly signed Harrison to a one-year, $11 million extension on Wednesday that will enable him to collect $12 million in guaranteed cash over the next two seasons.

Harrison, 30, played 10 games for the Lions after being acquired from New York midway through the 2018 season.

The former Pro Bowler recorded 50 tackles, seven quarterback hits and 3.5 sacks during that span.

He’s considered one of the better run-stuffing defensive tackles in the game. It’s something the Lions desperately need moving forward after that part of their defense improved with Harrison in the mix last season.
