Report: LeBron James has no relationship with Cavs front office

LeBron James could very well be finishing up his final season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Things have spiraled completely out of control within the organization, leading to the Cavs themselves losing 13 of their past 20 games.

While the on-court struggles have been public record, we’re starting to hear a lot more about what’s happening behind the scenes. According to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, that includes James himself having absolutely no relationship with the Cavaliers’ front office.

“James and (owner Dan) Gilbert have no relationship. Neither do James and (GM Koby) Altman, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation told The Athletic. Whereas Griffin would consult with James and keep him informed of major roster decisions, that is no longer happening,” Lloyd noted.

That’s a pretty damning report right there from someone in Lloyd who has been well connected to sources from both the Cavs and James in recent years.

According to Lloyd, the issues stem from Cleveland firing former general manager David Griffin. The relationship between James and Cleveland’s front office got even more heated when he wasn’t brought into the loop regarding the Kyrie Irving trade until 20 minutes before it was leaked to the public.

Set to become a free agent after this season, it’s not a secret that James is potentially looking to move on from the Cavaliers. Taking into account the team’s struggles and his non-existent relationship with the front office, that’s now looking like a strong possibility.
