Report: Kevin Durant Expected to be Named NBA MVP

ESPN’s Marc Stein is reporting that Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is expected to beat out LeBron James of the Miami Heat for the 2013-2014 NBA MVP award.

Either way, the voters couldn’t go wrong here. James is more than deserving of the award, but it’s nice to see a new face atop the list. Durant averaged 32 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game during the regular season. His Thunder are also on the verage of closing out the Memphis Grizzlies in their Game 7 matchup as we speak.

Personally I would have cast my vote for James, who put up yet another spectacular season for the Heat. He shot a ridiculous 57 percent from the field while averaging 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per outing.
