Report: Kenny Britt, Corey Coleman sent back home for missing curfew last weekend

Cleveland Browns receiver Kenny Britt

Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman were both sent packing ahead of last Sunday’s Cleveland Browns road game against the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Neither man was going to play in the game due to injuries, but they were still expected to follow team rules. When they failed to live up to those expectations, they were sent back to Cleveland.

“Even with both sidelined, head coach Hue Jackson wasn’t lowering his standard for two receivers who broke curfew. The two were sent home Sunday morning, missing the game, and have since had talks with Cleveland’s coaching staff after the incident and apologized, Garafolo reported,” per Nick Shook of NFL.com.

Britt’s first season in Cleveland has been nothing short of a debacle. He signed a lucrative four-year contract following his first career 1,000-plus yard season as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. But all he’s done for the Browns to this point is become a millstone around the neck of an already drowning offense.

Recently, his effort was so bad that Browns fans were already calling for the team to release him.

Coleman has been disappointing for another reason. The talented second-year receiver out of Baylor was selected No. 15 overall last year but has struggled to stay healthy. He’s appeared in 12 games the past year-plus, catching 39 passes for 475 yards and four touchdowns.

This isn’t a good look for either player. Hopefully Britt’s bad example doesn’t rub off on Coleman, who still has a bright future ahead of him if he can stay healthy and out of trouble.
