Report: Kemba Walker signs four-year, $141M deal with Celtics

After losing All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving to the Brooklyn Nets, the Boston Celtics quickly replaced him on Sunday by agreeing to a max contract with star point guard Kemba Walker.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Walker has agreed to a four-year, $141 million deal to become the face of Boston’s franchise and hopefully put the team back into title contention.

The 29-year-old averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game last season with the Charlotte Bobcats. After Charlotte refused to offer Walker a supermax contract, Walker quickly found a home in Boston.

The Celtics are exploring a three-team, sign-and-trade deal with the Charlotte Bobcats and Brooklyn Nets. The move would be the only way for Boston to potentially create enough cap room to re-sign All-Star center Al Horford.
