Jason Pierre-Paul was a no-show during Tampa Bay Buccaneers OTAs, a fact that means more than just a missed opportunity to bond with his new teammates.
According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, JPP lost out on $250,000 by skipping those voluntary workouts.
“Jason Pierre-Paul, in his contract that they got from the Giants that he’s now playing under with the Bucs, includes a workout bonus of $250,000 that he just said, ‘Eh, I’m good,’” said Stroud on his podcast Sports Day Tampa Bay.
Most of us would bend over backwards to haul in a quarter-million for such a scant amount of work. Then again, most of us can’t do stuff like this, either.
Hopefully, Pierre-Paul had a good reason for skipping out on these practices.
