Report: Jason Kidd tried to trade Jabari Parker

Jason Kidd wore out his welcome with the Milwaukee Bucks, and a rocky relationship with potential-filled forward Jabari Parker assuredly didn’t help.

According to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, Kidd attempted to have the franchise trade Parker even before his first ACL tear in December 2014.

In other words, Kidd apparently never wanted Parker on the Bucks. That injury occurred during the Duke product’s rookie season.

Additionally, Kidd — who Woelfel says might be interested in coaching the Phoenix Suns — “drove a Texas-size wedge” between himself and Parker in 2017 by briefly benching the forward as punishment for publicly discussing a team meeting. Parker returned to the starting lineup the next game.

Less than three weeks later, Parker tore an ACL for the second time in his short NBA career. He’s close to returning this season.

While it’s possible they maintained a working relationship, Kidd no longer has a say in Parker’s future with the Bucks.
