It was reported on Tuesday that the Dallas Cowboys were not planning on trading draft picks for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. Now, the news around Jacksonville is that the Jaguars are also not interested in trading for the 30-year-old running back (via the Florida Times Union).
Head coach Gus Bradley shot down rumors that Jacksonville was possibly planning a deal to land Peterson, stating this:
No, not really. Not between (general manager) Dave (Caldwell). A while ago, but it was just conversation, not any direction that we would go.
With the Jaguars and Cowboys supposedly out of the race to nab Peterson, other teams such as the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals still stand out as possible landing spots. However, at this time, the Vikings are not exactly dangling Peterson around as available trade bait.
As the 2015 NFL draft inches closer and talk of teams interested in Peterson die down, it would appear that he may remain in Minnesota in 2015. Obviously, that’s dependent on the running back actually showing up for work.
