Report: Dolphins release former top-five pick Dion Jordan

Former Miami Dolphins first-round pick Dion Jordan has not played in an NFL game since the 2014 season. He was suspended for the entire 2015 campaign after violating the league’s substance abuse policy. A knee injury then kept Jordan out this entire past season.

Now, with only one career start under his belt, the Dolphins have released their former prized draft pick. It comes with an injury designation.

Jordan, 27, was the No. 3 overall pick of Miami back in 2013. In parts of two seasons with the team, he recorded a grand total of 46 tackles and three sacks.

This closes the books on Miami’s 2013 NFL Draft class. None of the players they selected that year remain on the team.
