The 2020 NFL Draft is a day away and the uncertainty surrounding where Tua Tagovailoa will land is more prevalent than ever. However, the latest report on Tagovailoa’s medial status could be good news for his draft stock.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Miami Dolphins gave Tagovailoa a passing grade during his physical with them at the NFL Combine.

Since the Dolphins last met with Tagovailoa at the combine, the 22-year-old quarterback has continued to make progress in his recovery from hip surgery. Multiple NFL teams removed Tagovailoa from their draft board due to a variety of medical concerns.

Among the issues in the eyes of several teams, they believe he will eventually need his hip replaced. He also underwent surgery for left and right high-ankle sprains, suffered a sprained knee and a hand injury during his collegiate career.

However, Tagovailoa impressed during his Pro Day workout and many still believe he will be a top-10 pick on Thursday.

There’s no denying that Tagovailoa is one of the most talented prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft. But a player once considered to be a top-three pick has fallen due to the durability risk. If the Dolphins believe he can stay healthy, though, they would be wise to take him with the No. 5 overall pick.
