The entire Giancarlo Stanton situation should be coming to a head at some point here soon. Long on the trade block, the 2017 NL MVP will be shipped from the Miami Marlins to another team this winter.
While the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants seem to be front runners for Stanton’s services, the Los Angeles Dodgers have emerged as a potential destination.
According to this one report, Stanton has given the Marlins a list of his preferred destinations.

With a full no-trade clause and $295 million remaining on his contract, this somewhat limits the Marlins’ options. Sure they’re going to have to pick up some of his contract, but there’s only a handful of teams that can take on Stanton’s bloated deal.
Jon Morosi of MLB.com also notes that the Dodgers are Stanton’s first choice.

As was previously reported, talks between Miami and Los Angeles regarding Stanton have not progressed a great deal.
Stanton will now likely want to see how the entire Dodgers situation plays out before approving a trade to another team. This could stall trade talks with other squads for a while.
