On Sunday, Fox Sports’ Troy Aikman said during the broadcast that Dak Prescott has a fractured finger.

But on Monday, a report contradicted that and clarified the injury.

According to Calvin Watkins, who covers the Dallas Cowboys for the Dallas Morning News, Prescott doesn’t have a fractured finger. Instead, Watkins reports the tip of Prescott’s finger “got smashed in the Bears game severely” causing a lot of bleeding “underneath the skin at the tip of his finger.”

Certainly, any injury to the index finger of one’s throwing hand would be problematic and likely painful.

However, Prescott didn’t suffer any ill effects from his finger injury during Dallas’ blowout win over the Los Angeles Rams. Instead, he was ruthlessly efficient as the Cowboys doubled up the Rams to improve to 7-7 on the season with two weeks remaining.
