Report: Cowboys interested in upgrading receiving corps via trade

Dallas Cowboys News

The Dallas Cowboys reportedly have their eye on upgrading their receiving corps with a trade for a slot specialist ahead of the 2020 season.

Mike Fisher of SI.com reported Sunday that the Cowboys are looking at guys like Arizona Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk and San Francisco 49ers wideout Marquise Goodwin to help bolster their passing game.

This isn’t the only trade Dallas is reportedly mulling, either. The Cowboys are once again targeting an All-Pro defender who appears to want out of his current situation, so things could get awfully spicy in the days to come.

Fisher also mentioned that “Browns free agent Rashard Higgins, Cowboys free agent Tavon Austin and … Dez Bryant” could be in the mix to fill the role Dallas is looking for. However, he noted that Austin is a player Dallas doesn’t seem too high on bringing back in 2020.

As for Bryant, he’s been working out plenty during the offseason and wants to get back into the fold as a member of the Cowboys. Dallas has talked about signing the former star receiver but to this point nothing has progressed beyond a preliminary discussion.

Likely, this is the type of trade — if it does take place — that will transpire during the 2020 NFL Draft.
