The New York Giants have reunited offensive coordinator Jason Garrett with quarterback Cooper Rush. One day after being released by the Dallas Cowboys, Rush has landed with Big Blue.
Cooper Rush claimed off waivers by the Giants
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Tuesday that the Giants claimed Rush off waivers from the Cowboys.
Formerly an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan in 2017, Rush has been with Garrett his entire career. He spent his first three professional seasons as a backup with the Cowboys, appearing in two games.
Rush was waived by Dallas after the ‘Boys signed Andy Dalton to a one-year contract. He won’t threaten Daniel Jones in New York. But if the Giants do need a backup, he knows Garrett’s system and can run it in a pinch.
