Report: Cardinals waive veteran CB Tramaine Brock

Fresh off a humiliating 34-7 loss to the division rival Los Angeles Rams, it looks like changes are in order for the Arizona Cardinals.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Arizona has waived veteran cornerback Tramaine Brock.

As noted, Brock has been the Cardinals’ highest-rated cornerback this season, according to Pro Football Focus metrics.

The 31-year-old cornerback did play a role in Arizona yielding north of 400-plus passing yards to Jared Goff on Sunday. His performance is what likely led to this move.

Even then, it’s surprising to see a talent-stricken team move on from a player who was among the best at his position.

Brock recorded 31 tackles and three passes defended in 10 games (seven starts) this season. A contending team will likely come calling.

This move comes with Arizona in the midst of a five-game losing streak and at 3-8-1 on the season.
