Report: Buffalo Bills meet with Tom Coughlin

We’re not exactly too sure what’s going on with the Buffalo Bills these days. Heck, the Buffalo Bills themselves seem to be a bit confused about the direction of the franchise.

Fresh off a disastrous 0-2 start to the season, Rex Ryan’s hold on the head coaching position has become increasingly tenuous. The team also fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman following its Week 2 loss to the New York Jets.

Now comes this rather interesting report.

That’s right. Buffalo’s brass has apparently met with former Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin. The exact nature of the meeting is not yet known, but this is sure to bring into question Ryan’s job security moving forward.

Though, it’s more likely that this had nothing to do with the Bills’ head coaching position. Ryan was just named senior advisor of football operations by the National Football League. It’s under this guise that he potentially met with the Bills.

As it is, anytime a successful and unemployed head coach meets with a team that’s currently struggling at the level the Bills are, we should probably take note.

Coughlin last coached in the NFL with the Giants last season. He was forced out following a recent run of mediocre football in New York. Though, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that Coughlin himself wants back on the sideline. Whether this recent meeting had anything to do with that is not yet known.
