Report: Buccaneers considering two-year contract for quarterback Jameis Winston

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jameis Winston NFL quarterbacks

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be considering bringing back Jameis Winston in 2020, after all, and could offer a two-year contract to make it happen.

According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, the Bucs are “entertaining the idea of a two-year deal with the first year guaranteed and the second year being a team option for Jameis Winston, per sources. The first year would be roughly the same as the franchise tag $27 million.”

The Buccaneers will have other options, of course, given the crazy amount of quarterback talent coming on the open market this spring.

However, Philip Rivers is rumored to be headed to Indy, and Las Vegas could be calling Tom Brady. So, in the end, bringing Winston back on a short-term deal with little risk may be the team’s best move, after all.
