Report: Broncos place Joe Flacco on injured reserve with neck injury

The Denver Broncos are reportedly placing Joe Flacco on injured reserve with a neck injury, ending his season, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With second-round rookie Drew Lock still not ready to take over, Brandon Allen will start Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, with rookie Brett Rypien taking the backup stop after a promotion from the practice squad.

Flacco suffered a neck injury last Sunday as the Broncos lost to the Indianapolis Colts. He also took some serious shots at Vic Fangio and Denver’s coaching staff after the game, particularly loathing the conservative decisions that ultimately led to the loss late.

Now, his season is over, and it seems likely that Flacco may never play another snap for the Broncos. In eight games this season, Flacco completed 65.3% of his passes for 1,822 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions.
