It’s not all great news in the Big D following a second consecutive double-digit win to open the season.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, second-year wide receiver Michael Gallup will undergo arthroscopic surgery to trim his meniscus and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.
Gallup, 23, has been Dak Prescott’s most-targeted receiver through the first two weeks of the season.
That span has seen the former third-round pick catch 13-of-15 targets for 226 yards. Prescott boasts a 118.8 rating when targeting the Colorado State product.
With Gallup out of action, we’re expecting former New York Jets second-round pick Devin Smith to play a larger role moving forward.
He earned a spot on the 53 after a solid preseason performance and caught a long touchdown from Prescott in Dallas’ win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
