Report: Bears sign former Steelers first-round pick Artie Burns

Artie Burns Bears

The Chicago Bears were in need of more depth at cornerback after releasing Prince Amukamara earlier in the offseason. They have apparently found that.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Chicago has signed former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Artie Burns to a one-year contract.

Burns, 24, was the No. 25 overall pick of the Steelers back in 2016. He started 25 games over the course of his first two seasons, recording 26 passes defended and four interceptions.

Unfortunately, the Miami (F) product has fallen on hard times recently. He was in head coach Mike Tomlin’s doghouse last season. Maybe a change in scenery will do this still-young defensive back well.
