The New England Patriots released Antonio Brown less than two weeks after signing him following two woman issuing separate accusations of sexual misconduct and sexual assault.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “Brown’s NFL career is on pause and possibly could even be over.”

The NFL is currently investigating Brown for both cases now, the second of which was triggered by a series of threatening text messages to the second accuser after her story became public in an article by Robert Klemko of Sports Illustrated.

There is a chance that Brown could be put on the commissioner’s exempt list in light of this latest development, at the least.
