Report: A.J. Green won’t be traded unless Bengals get ‘over-the-top, obscene’ offer

A.J. Green Bengals return

Will Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green be traded ahead of the deadline? According to one report, you shouldn’t bet on it.

Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic shared Tuesday that the Bengals would have to be overwhelmed with a crazy trade offer to let Green go.

“Barring an over-the-top, obscene offer from a contending club, Green’s going nowhere. It’s hard to envision anything like that happening. Zac Taylor doubled down on Monday stating the team is not trading Green,  just as he did two weeks ago. They want to sign Green for the long haul. They don’t want to trade him and don’t plan on doing it no matter how much the rest of the league thinks they should.”

The NFL saw two top receivers traded on Tuesday, which likely has at least some bearing on whether the Bengals would receive an “over-the-top, obscene offer” in any trade conversations about A.J. Green.

As for his current team, Green may be in line to play for the first time this season on Sunday when the Bengals take on the Los Angeles Rams.
