Report: 76ers still have ‘strong’ interest in acquiring Kawhi Leonard

The Philadelphia 76ers are aiming for the moon right now. In addition to speaking with LeBron James’ representatives about luring The King to Philly, the Sixers are still very interested in acquiring San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard, according to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports.

Already loaded with elite, young talent, Philly is uniquely positioned to make the biggest splash of the 2018 NBA offseason.

James and Leonard have reportedly discussed joining forces, with James being very interested in joining forces with such an elite defender.

Even just one of them landing on a team that features Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, among others, would give the Sixers one of the best trios in the Association. If the Sixers were to land both James and Leonard, then it’s safe to say Philly would be loaded with enough talent to legitimately challenge the best in the west.

It’s going to be fascinating to see how all this unfolds. San Antonio is reportedly ready to move on from Leonard, who appears to be pushing hard for an exit, and the Sixers have some enticing pieces to offer in return.
