The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly dangling inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman as trade bait ahead of the trade deadline.
49ers shopping LB NaVorro Bowman, and there are teams interested, sources tell ESPN. His time in SF soon could come to an end.

The eight-year veteran has played in all five games for the 49ers this year, tallying 22 total tackles. However, he was not on the field much during the team’s Week 5 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, even though he was not injured.
The four-time First-team All-Pro, came back from a devastating knee injury suffered in the 2013 NFC Championship Game against the Seattle Seahawks. He missed the entire 2014 season but played in all 16 games during the 2015 season and actually put together a stellar season that year. But another injury last year to his Achilles tendon cost him 12 games, and he’s been noticeably slower to react in the passing game this season.
Clearly, the 49ers are rebuilding. The franchise is 0-5 to start the season and needs to develop young players. So in this sense, it makes sense to let a veteran who might still be able to contribute to a contender finish his career in style. It also makes sense for the 49ers to continue amassing draft capital as they retool.
It’s going to be interesting to see if Bowman generates much interest. The 49ers have until October 31 to try and find a trade partner, if a deal gets done.
