Ravens Release Bernard Pierce After DUI Arrest

Self-fulfilling prophecy here. The Baltimore Ravens have released running back Bernard Pierce after he was arrested on DUI charges early Wednesday morning.

During his arrest, Pierce told the officer that he was going to be released by the team the next day.

Unfortunately for Pierce, that became a reality mere hours after he was released from policy custody.

The Ravens, who have had their fair share of PR issues in the past, are not playing any games when it comes to off-field issues. They previously released defensive back Victor Hampton and defensive tackle Terrence Cody after off-field issues earlier this offseason.

In a statement announcing the release, the Ravens organization indicated through the team’s website that it has taken on a “zero tolerance” policy after a “string of incidents” last year.

You think?

Pierce ends his three-year Ravens career with a 1,498 total yards and five touchdowns. At just 24 and with a nice amount of upside, we can expect Pierce to get some solid play on the open market.
