Report: Ravens and Justin Tucker agree on four-year deal

Justin Tucker

Justin Tucker just got paid. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Baltimore Ravens kicker signed a $16.8 million deal over four years including $10.8 million guaranteed.

The deal gives Tucker the most guaranteed money a kicker has ever received. It’s also the second-largest contract for a kicker all time behind Stephen Gostkowski from last offseason.

Kickers normally aren’t worth ridiculous amounts of money. But when that kicker is someone like Justin Tucker, who has missed just one kick in the last two seasons under 50 yards, he’s worth that kind of money. Few kickers have the kind of clutch kicking ability that Tucker has as well.

The man who is now the second-highest paid kicker in the NFL has a career 94.9 percent accuracy from inside 50 yards and is also 60-percent accurate from past 50 yards. He has a cannon for a leg and someone who is easily worth the money that he just got paid.

At 26 years old, Tucker finally has the ideal contract for a top kicker in the NFL today. His deal should be what kickers everywhere strive for when they can finally get to free agency or a situation where they are getting franchised.
