The once-promising career of former Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman was derailed by off-field issues in 2016, and now he’s once again in the news for the wrong reasons.
On Saturday morning, Hageman was arrested and charged with fourt-degree driving while impaired, per Paul Walsh of the Star Tribune. He was released round 90 minutes later without having to post bail and has a court hearing scheduled for June 21.
This isn’t the first legal issues Hageman has faced recently. He was arrested on domestic violence charges back in 2016, which landed him on the commissioner’s exempt list before the Falcons released him. He was subsequently hit with a six-game suspension by the league, and the free agent defensive tackle hasn’t gotten much of a sniff since then.
Hageman last played during the 2016 season. In three years with the Falcons, the former second-round pick out of Minnesota tallied 61 total tackles and four sacks.
