Texas Rangers catcher Mitch Garver is heading to the 10-day injured list because of a sprained flexor tendon.

Garver has not played since Sunday because of the injury. The 31-year-old is in his first season with the Rangers after spending the previous five seasons with the Minnesota Twins.

In 22 games this season, Garver is hitting .205 with three homers and eight RBIs. He has thrown out two of 12 runners from behind the plate.

To take Garver’s spot on the roster, the Rangers recalled catcher Sam Huff from Triple-A Round Rock. Huff has appeared in 11 career games with the Rangers, hitting .353 (12-for-34) with three homers and five RBIs.
