Rams GM says team plans to sign Jared Goff to an extension

The Los Angeles Rams made news this offseason when the team’s brass noted that signing franchise quarterback Jared Goff to an extension was not a priority.

Now with training camp getting going in Southern California, it appears that the Rams have changed their tune. According to general manager Les Snead, the team is planning to ink Goff to an extension.

Things are a tad convoluted in this regard after fellow fourth-year quarterback and No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz inked a four-year, $128 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason.

Any new deal for Goff would have to include those numbers as a starting-off point.

Goff, 24, is coming off a 2018 campaign that saw him throw for 4,688 yards with 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions en route to leading Los Angeles to the Super Bowl.
