Rams Beat 49ers on Controversial Call

The St. Louis Rams went into Santa Clara and pulled off a pretty major upset against a suddenly fledgling San Francisco 49ers squad.

With St. Louis up 13-10 and the 49ers possessing the ball at the one-yard line with less than 10 seconds remaining, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick fumbled the ball before it crossed the goal line (at least according to the officials). The officials then reviewed the play call, at which point it was upheld.

You be the judge.

And another angle.

Kaepernick didn’t initially have possession of the football, but seemed to regain it heading to the goal line. There isn’t 100 percent clear evidence whether the 49ers quarterback ended up with possession as he crossed the line.

Either way, this was a culmination of a pathetic performance from both the home team and the officials. San Francisco falls to 4-4 on the season and is three games behind the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West.
