The Oakland Raiders signed veteran linebacker Brandon Marshall ahead of their Week 9 game against Detroit, but on Monday they released him once again.
Head coach Jon Gruden announced the roster move, which was made in order to make room for cornerback Isaiah Johnson, who was activated from injured reserve, per Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Marshall signed with the Raiders during free agency last March. Unfortunately, a nagging knee injury plagued him throughout most of training camp and he was a surprising cut heading into the regular season.
The former Denver Broncos linebacker is healthy, and there’s a chance he could end up landing back on Oakland’s roster following the team’s Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Chargers. To this point in the season, he has yet to take a single snap.
