Sports world reacts to Rafael Nadal winning his 12th French Open title

Rafael Nadal French Open

Rafael Nadal took down Dominic Thiem in four sets Sunday at Roland Garros to win the 2019 French Open.

It marked his 12th career French Open title and 18th Grand Slam title overall. Nobody has owned the clay courts at Roland Garros like Nadal.

Incredibly, Nadal is still just 33 years of age. So, if his body holds up and he continues playing at a high level it stands to reason he will add to his legendary record at this tournament. If he does, then Nadal has a shot at taking down his longtime rival, Roger Federer, as the all-time Grand Slam king.

After Nadal won Sunday, the sports world as a whole was in awe of his dominance.
