On Monday morning, a rather troubling development occurred at the Graduate Minneapolis hotel. A road was closed as the result of a “public safety situation” in the hotel, which involved police and reportedly a SWAT team to respond.
As ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted, this is the same hotel in which the NFL has staff staying for Super Bowl LII and is the location for this weekend’s NFL Honors show.

Per KSTP.com, University police have had officers talking with an individual “for some time” as they attempt to get him or her to come out of the hotel. Thankfully, police report there is “no direct threat” and that nobody has been hurt.

The university has asked students, faculty and staff to stay away from the east portion of campus. Thankfully it seems like this situation is well in hand, and we’ll certainly keep you updated if anything changes on that front.
