The Philadelphia Union have completed the acquisition of attacking midfielder Daniel Gazdag of Hungary, Nemzeti Sport reported Monday.

The Union are paying approximately $1.8 million to acquire the 25-year-old from Budapest Honved FC, according to the report.

Gazdag tallied 13 goals and six assists in 30 appearances in Hungary’s top flight this season as he helped Honved to avoid relegation. His career totals at Honved include 31 goals and 32 assists in 212 matches.

Internationally, Gazdag has earned six caps with the Hungarian national team and is expected to be on the roster for this summer’s UEFA European Championship.

Between his duties with the national team and delays involved with the visa process and travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s not clear when Gazdag might join the MLS club.
