Philadelphia Eagles Will Reportedly Sign Miles Austin Pending a Physical

The possible latest addition to the Philadelphia Eagles roster will be wide receiver Miles Austin if he receives a clean bill of health after a physical.

Austin, who spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Dallas Cowboys then one uneventful season with the Cleveland Browns, looks to be a reach for the Eagles in their attempt to fill the void left by Jeremy Maclin’s departure.

Over the course of Austin’s career, he has put up some solid numbers. From 2009-2010, Austin tallied over 2,300 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. Since then, the veteran has had multiple hamstring injuries and has played just one full 16-game season.

The 30-year-old receiver will only make for a small bandage to pick up the slack that Maclin leaves behind. If he passes his physical (no sure bet), Austin will join wide receiver Riley Cooper, and second-year wideouts Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff at wide receiver.

It is interesting with guys like Michael Crabtree and Hakeem Nicks still available, that the team would turn its attention to Austin.

However, this is Chip Kelly we are talking about.
