Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes will be the talk of the water cooler in the two weeks leading up to Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers.
For good reason. The third-year quarterback has been an absolute force since taking over the starting job last season. He’s about to cash in on a record-breaking deal after Sunday’s brilliant performance in a win over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game.
Mahomes is also now a popular man among fans. The NFLPA released its list of top-selling jerseys from the 2019 season, and Mahomes tops it for the first time. Like he’s done on the field, the former first-round pick beat out New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
All said, five of the top 10 are quarterbacks. Mahomes is the only player suiting up in Super Bowl LIV between the Chiefs and 49ers ranked in the top 10.
As it relates to the rest of the list, Jimmy Garoppolo leads 49ers players at No. 15 overall in sales with George Kittle coming in 22nd. Maybe Jimmy would be higher if he went shirtless more often. Just saying!
