Panthers’ Thomas Davis shades Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell

The Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers will do battle at Heinz Field this coming Thursday night in a game between two of the hottest teams in the NFL.

The backstory is rather obvious here. In the midst of a four-game winning streak and with second-year back James Conner making history, Pittsburgh will likely welcome holdout Le’Veon Bell back here soon.

Bell has until Nov. 13 to report in order to play this season and accrue a year of service time. Should that not happen, the chances of him hitting free agency in March become remote.

In his stead, Conner has put up nearly 1,100 total yards and 10 touchdowns halfway through the season. It’s almost like the red-hot Steelers don’t miss Mr. Bell.

In talking about Bell, it seems that Panthers Pro Bowl linebacker Thomas Davis agrees with this sentiment.

That’s some pretty harsh stuff right there. This is also the second consecutive Steelers opponent to shade Bell as the running back holds out more than halfway through the season.

It’s becoming readily apparent that people around the league are not taking Bell’s side as his contract stalemate with the Steelers continues. The more Conner shows out on the field, the louder the chorus is going to get. Davis is just the latest example of this thinking.
