In a heartfelt post on social media, three-time Pro Bowl Carolina Panthers linebacker and impending free agent Thomas Davis announced that the team informed him that it will be moving on from him.

Having starred for the Panthers over the past 14 seasons, this had to be hard for Thomas to hear. As you can tell, he’s pretty emotional about the whole thing.

A first-round pick of the Panthers back in 2005, Thomas dealt with multiple serious injuries throughout his career. But in a sign that his heart was bigger than most, he returned strong from each injury.

This past season saw Thomas record 79 tackles and six passes defended. He was a Pro Bowler with the Panthers in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and earned the 2014 Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
