The NFL offseason police blotter is quickly starting to fill up. We’ve seen multiple players arrested over the past week after the earlier portion of the offseason was relatively quiet.
Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Montravius Adams is the latest NFL player in trouble with the law.
According to AL.com, Adams was arrested in Georgia Tuesday night and charged with three misdemeanors: possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving without insurance and suspended/canceled/revoked vehicle registration. Adams, 24, was apprehended by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and released hours later on $2,694 bond.
Despite Georgia’s archaic marijuana laws, Adams is unlikely to face discipline from the NFL. The league changed its drug policy in the lead up to the newly-signed collective bargaining agreement.
A product of Auburn, Adams was a third-round pick of the Packers back in 2017. He’s appeared in 37 games in three seasons, recording 33 tackles and 1.5 sacks. This incident is unlikely to impact his status with the Packers.
