Owner Jim Irsay says Colts are not for sale

A report earlier in the week suggested that owner Jim Irsay had turned down a $3.2 billion offer to sell the team.

The longtime owner verified that on his Twitter account one day later, noting that the Colts were not for sale.

That initial report came on the heels of Forbes’ annual list estimating that the Colts are worth a cool $265 million.

The offer referenced above would have shattered the all-time mark set when the Carolina Panthers were sold to David Tepper for $2.28 billion back in July of 2018.

Given the spike we’ve seen in NFL revenue and team values over the past several years, it wouldn’t make much sense for an owner to sell low right now.

In fact, the Panthers sale coincided with former owner Jerry Richardson being forced out in disgrace.
