Ottawa Senators forward Drake Batherson agreed to a six-year contract worth $29.85 million on Friday.

Per the Senators, Batherson will receive $2.5 million in 2021-22 and $3.5 million the following season. He then will pocket $5.4 million each of the next two years, $6.5 million in 2025-26 and $6.55 million in 2026-27.

Batherson, 23, finished second on the team in goals (17) and fourth in points (34) while playing in all 56 games last season.

“Drake represents an integral component of our future at forward,” Senators general manager Pierre Dorion said. “Dating to his first pro season (2018-19), he has steadily progressed to the point where he is now widely recognized as a bonafide top line NHL winger. He possesses a strong ability to play at both ends of the ice, is a key power play contributor and someone we expect to be a prominent player for us for several years to come.”

Batherson has recorded 53 points (23 goals, 30 assists) in 99 career games since being selected by the Senators the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft.
