The Orlando Magic signed first-round draft picks Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner on Tuesday.

Suggs, a 6-foot-4 guard, played one season at Gonzaga before being selected with the No. 5 overall pick in last week’s draft. Wagner, a 6-9 forward from Michigan, was the No. 8 overall selection.

Contract terms were not released, but Suggs’ draft position is slotted for a $25 million rookie deal, with Wagner expected to earn $19 million.

At Gonzaga, Suggs started 30 games last season and averaged 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.90 steals per game. He shot 50.3 percent from the floor on his way to becoming an All-America second team selection.

He long will be remembered for drilling a three-pointer as time expired to beat UCLA in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament in April.

Wagner, 19, played in 28 games (all starts) for the Wolverines as a sophomore in 2020-21. He averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists over 31.7 minutes per game.

With the Magic, he joins his brother, Moritz Wagner, who also played at Michigan.

Also on Tuesday, ESPN reported the Magic have signed free-agent center Robin Lopez to a one-year deal. The 33-year-old Lopez, a 13-year veteran, played for the Washington Wizards last season. He averaged 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds over 71 games (nine starts).

The rebuilding Magic parted ways with coach Steve Clifford after a 21-51 season. Former Dallas Mavericks assistant Jamahl Mosley is the new coach of the Magic.
