Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dylan Bundy’s struggles since the start of last season took on new meaning Friday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The former first-round pick yielded seven earned runs in just one inning of working, raising his already sky-high ERA to 5.28 on the season.
Bundy is now on the shelf. The Orioles placed him on the injured list Saturday morning with right knee tendinitis.
This might be the best for an Orioles rotation that needs to see an influx of young talent. Bundy, 26, has pitched to a 12-27 record with a 5.39 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in his past 49 starts.
There’s no telling if Bundy will indeed return to the rotation once he comes off the IL.
